The Property Manager's Fire Protection Checklist: Systems, Schedules and Records
A system-by-system checklist for property managers: what to inventory, how to build an inspection calendar, what records to keep and how to manage deficiencies.
Fire Sprinkler & Water-Based Systems
Backflow preventers protect the public water supply from contamination. Many water providers require annual testing by a certified tester — we test, document and help you submit results.
Starting at $75 per device
A backflow prevention assembly keeps water from your building — including stagnant water in fire sprinkler piping — from flowing backward into the public water supply. Fire sprinkler connections and many commercial water services are required to have one.
YearRound tests backflow assemblies on fire lines and domestic services, records the results, and helps you meet your water provider’s submission process. If an assembly fails, we explain why and quote the repair.
Our Process
We confirm assembly types, sizes and locations, and coordinate any fire system impairment.
Each assembly is tested using calibrated equipment and results recorded.
Results are documented in the format your water provider requires.
Failed assemblies are quoted for repair or replacement and retested.

Testing must be performed by a properly certified backflow tester. Requirements and accepted certifications are set by the state and your water provider.
Water to the assembly is shut off briefly during the test. For fire lines, we coordinate the short impairment with your team and monitoring company.
